Last year the office of Student Financial Services at the NYC Campus awarded nearly $3 million in grants and scholarships to over 90% of our students.
Listed below are the Grants and Scholarships that Nyack offers students enrolling for the first time in 2008-2009.
Final awards are determined by Nyack through your Award Letter.

Academic Grants
Nyack Scholars Grant - $1,000-$3,500
Awarded based on high school GPA, SAT, or ACT scores. Eligibility limited to first-year freshmen. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required for award renewal each year.
National Honor Society Grant - $1,000
Awarded to all incoming freshmen that are active members of a National Honor Society chapter in their high school. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required for award renewal.
Honors Program Grant – varies
All students accepted into the Honors Program will be given an Honors Program Grant to bring them up to the $5,500 annual, two semester cap. This grant is renewable based on continued participation in the Honors Program and maintaining a 3.5 GPA.
Achievement Grants
Leadership Grant - $2,000
A grant awarded to a new student who has demonstrated leadership qualities in their high school, church, or community. Application for this grant requires a 1) Reference Form completed by a teacher, or a church and community agency official, and 2) An interview by the Director of Student Life.
Church Leaders Grant - $2,000
A grant awarded to pastors and official workers in the church. Application for this grant requires a Referral Form from a Church Official verifying the leadership position in the church. The grant is for pastors or those elected to leadership positions, i.e. Elder, Sunday School Superintendent, Governing Board, etc.
Music Grant - $1,000-$8,000
Grants awarded to new students who demonstrate talent in music based upon an audition before music faculty. Grant is renewable if student maintains 2.5 GPA and is in good standing with the music department, i.e. participation in practices and a minimum number of performances is required.
Other Grants
Ministerial Dependent Grant - $1,000
A grant is awarded to a dependent of a person who is licensed and/or ordained and currently on a church, district, or missionary staff and whose major source of income is paid by a church, district or mission board. The Office of Admissions will provide a verification form. This form is to be filled out by the minister and verified by the church, district, or board treasurer.
International Grant - $2,000
A grant awarded to any student with non-citizen, non resident status. Requires a minimum 2.0 GPA for renewal.
Bible Institute Grant - $1,000
A Grant awarded to students who have attended a Bible Institute diploma program.
Church Partnership Grant - $1,000
This grant will be awarded to all members of a Partnering Church. Contact admissions for a current list of Nyack’s partnering churches.
Presidential Grant – varies
New students may be awarded an additional need based grant based on the FAFSA data. These grants are subject to the grant cap.
Part-Time Grant - $1000/Semester
Students enrolled for 6-11 credits in a semester are eligible for $1000/semester. The student is not eligible for any other Nyack Grants.
Terms & Conditions for All Grants
A NYC Ugraduate student may be eligible to receive up to $5,500 per year in Nyack grants and scholarships.
All Nyack grants and scholarship apply to first-time students entering Nyack during the 2008-2009 academic year and requires full-time enrollment (at least 12 credits per semester).
Renewal of grants and scholarships is dependant upon each student meeting a 2.5 GPA requirements unless the grant specifies otherwise. The student must also meet Federal and State standards for Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP). For details of these and all Nyack Financial Aid policies, refer to a
