Tell us about your spiritual journey. |
I met the Lord when I was 6 years old through Vacation Bible School. I began teaching Sunday School when I was 10 years old and have been in some form of active Ministry since then, including singing in church choirs, discipling and mentoring high school youth, Christian counseling practice and now teaching the Integration of Psychology and Theology. |
Any outside interests or hobbies? |
| I mostly love to read, research and write. I also enjoy the Arts including theater, movies and classic visual arts. Hiking, gardening, crafts, needlework are also hobbies for me. |
How were you led to Nyack and/or why are you here? |
| Bill Green, a man who is now a colleague, new of me and recommended my name to Stephen Maret who was the chair of the Psychology Department at Nyack in NYC. I was immediately thrilled with the environment here and accepted the teaching position in the Fall of 2001. |
What does your faith mean in your classroom or discipline? |
| In the Psychology Department, it is vitally important to have an understanding of our origin, nature, design and purpose from a Biblical perspective as I teach students how to comprehend the motives from which our thoughts and actions spring. |
What does your faith mean in relationships (particularly with students)? |
| In relationship with students, my faith is a daily believing that the Lord is guiding their lives. This allows me to rest when I'm faced with the many struggles of our students, knowing that I can't be enough for them but the Lord knows their needs. |
